“The fuel gauge is not working, the car is reading as full the whole time. As my wife and I share the car, we always assume the other was re-filling it, until it died on her. Worst is that, they will not keep it for repair as they don't have the parts. They send you with this safety risk away telling you to re-fuel it every 200 miles.”
NHTSA complaint #11151691, filed 2018-11, 280 miles“It is a brand new 2018 ILX we bought in october. Just driving it a few days we found the fuel gauge is not working. It always shows full tank. We brought it to Acura deal and was told it is a known issue with the fuel pump with many new 2018 ILX.”
NHTSA complaint #11155358, filed 2018-12“Possibility of incorrect vin number. I first noticed this issue when I tried to schedule an appointment with an Acura dealership. I was asked to enter my Vin number for my vehicle and when I did so it showed a different higher level trim than what I have. After conducting some research and purchasing couple of reputable detailed VIN reports using the Vin number on my car I saw that the vin on my vehicle does not match the trim level of the vehicle I am driving. The vin number appears to match a 2018 Acura ILX with a technology package. I do not have a technology package. …”
NHTSA complaint #11588737, filed 2024-05“The vehicle began experiencing a steering and suspension malfunction that made the car difficult to control, particularly at low speeds and when turning. There was increased vibration, unusual noise from the front end, and a noticeable pull to one side. These symptoms created a safety risk because loss of steering stability could have led to a crash, especially in traffic or on highways. The vehicle was taken to a Honda dealership for diagnosis. …”
NHTSA complaint #11712039, filed 2026-01“The contact owns a 2018 Acura ILX. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the fuel gauge fractured. The vehicle erroneously displayed that the fuel tank was full. The contact stated that the vehicle was bought brand new on october 30, 2018. Afterwards, the vehicle stalled without warning due to the lack of fuel. The contact stated that the vehicle's fuel gauge level fluctuated and remained inconclusive three weeks from the date the vehicle was purchased. …”
