Cars by Year provides general information drawn from public NHTSA data. It is not legal, safety, financial or repair advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or avoid any vehicle. Consult a qualified mechanic or professional about a specific vehicle.

Limits of the data

Complaints are unverified consumer reports and may be duplicated, incomplete or inaccurate. Counts are not adjusted for how many vehicles were sold, so popular models collect more complaints. Recall status can change; to check a specific vehicle, enter its VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. We try to keep the data current but make no warranty that it is complete or error-free.

Trademarks

Make and model names are used only to identify vehicles in public records. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer.

Privacy

We count page visits to understand which pages are useful. This uses a daily, one-way hashed identifier made from the network address and browser, which changes every day and does not allow us to identify you. We do not store IP addresses. The contact form stores the details you enter (name, email, message) so we can reply.
