“The light control for the 2018 Alfa Romeo gulia has always been set at 'auto'. Over the past few months, while the car was in park in our driveway with no key fob near it and no one touching the vehicle the headlights would blink on and off. This was observed about 4 times over the past 2 months. Recently, while driving the interior and exterior lights suddenly would dim, but quickly restore. On one occasion about 1 week ago, the interior lights remained dim but I was able to restore to the prior setting by adjusting the control on the dashboard. …”
NHTSA complaint #11389531, filed 2021-01, 20,200 miles“At night, with headlights set to AUTO, the headlights (right and left) will randomly turn of and on while driving. This could render my vehicle momentarily invisible to other drivers around me. Dealer confirmed the issue is the headlights. 70,000 mile service was just completed prior the the issues fist occurrence. No warnings or messages before the first incident.”
NHTSA complaint #11694804, filed 2025-10“When going over road bumps or hitting a pothole, the headlight adjusters pop out of alignment and is unable to be adjusted. This is the second headlight replacement for the same issue after my first pair of headlights were replaced under a tech service bulletin. The replacement lights which should have fixed the issue did not fix the issue and I know have a second pair of headlights that need to be replaced. This is a safety hazard as the lights point upward into oncoming traffic when the adjuster/clip breaks internally.”
