“Vehicle has 112,000 miles, attempted to replace the tires & was told that the wheels are no good, the chrome is peeling, therefore when the old tires were removed, the chrome fell off, therefor wheels won't hold air! Dealer inspected & told me it's out of warranty & the cost would be 4600,00. I'm told this is very common with these wheels! Dealer is jim curley, lakewood, nj. Had a second tire shop look at the wheels & they confirmed this problem exists with these wheels!”
NHTSA complaint #11397959, filed 2021-02, 112,000 miles“Factory wheel rims constantly loose air at the edge/ need of the rims. After attempts to resolve the problem had failed. Some research, apparently this is a common issue with these factory rims. The issue is, rim material deterioration/ pitting at the tire need area. Adding air every week. Why would this not be a safety issue?”
