NHTSA complaint #10892238, filed 2016-08, 25,000 miles

“This vehicle has hid headlight assemblies that have constant issues with condensation/water entering the housing and causing the ballast and bulb to fail. This is due to a faulty seal between the outer and inner shell assembly. This is a huge safety issue, as the vehicle may loose all headlights and cause the driver to crash. The assemblies are very costly to replace and the issue is very very common on all 2011 though 2017 Regal and gs models with hid. This is dangerous and should be fixed by the manufacturer. New assemblies will result in the same safety issue in a short amount of time. …”

NHTSA complaint #11176529, filed 2019-02, 38,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2015 Buick Regal. While the contact was inside the vehicle, the driver's side door lock was pressed, which activated the anti-theft system. The doors would not unlock from the inside and the occupants became trapped inside the vehicle for approximately 15 minutes before the contact was able to open the doors. An unknown dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was unknown.”
