“I took my car to the local gas station about 3 minutes from my house. I went in came back and out and before I was even halfway home my car started to overheat. I hadn't even driven half a mile. The thermostat and the coolant temperature sensor have been replaced and the radiator flushed. There was all sorts of brown gunk in the line but the issue still is not resolved. The heat only works occasionally after this and the car still will run hot and then drop back down to a normal temperature all within 2 minutes. No one is sure of what is going on with it. …”
NHTSA complaint #10446325, filed 2012-02, 85,000 miles“My 2005 Buick Rendezvous would periodically stall in turns or at red lights. 1 instance it wouldn't start again and it had to be towed to a Buick dealership. They said they fixed the problem with a new battery. After that it would still stall at lights and intersections. I told various mechanics about this problem. They would look into it and never found a problem. I even had my fuel filter changed etc. Well, on january 21 2011, I was making a routine left hand turn into work across 2 lanes of traffic when my car stalled... It wouldn't pick up and go. …”
NHTSA complaint #10379304, filed 2011-01, 85,300 miles“I write to report an occurrence of uncontrollable acceleration in a Buick Rendezvous. I rented the current model year Rendezvous from avis at lax airport on 5/14/05. That evening as I was accelerating to get on the freeway, the car accelerated uncontrollably. I immediately took my foot off the gas pedal, and put both feet on the brake, yet the car continued to accelerate. I noticed that even with both feet on the brake and pressing as hard as I could, the speed was increasing. …”
NHTSA complaint #10120964, filed 2005-05, 4,500 miles“2005 Buick Rendezvous stalling. On 4 occasions to date this vehicle has stalled on me. The first time I was going 70 MPH on the highway and it just shut down completely. I almost was rear ended. I managed to get it to the side of the road. It started back up. The next time I was in a school zone going about 10 MPH turning a corner and it went dead. It started back up. The third time I was slowing down to stop at a light and it stalled. It started back up. This is very worrisome and I would hate to think of the accident that could happen due to this.”
NHTSA complaint #10233242, filed 2008-07, 48,020 miles“- the contact stated that his 2005 Buick Rendezvous stalled without warning at various speeds. The engine was easily restarted, but the problem persisted. The vehicle was seen by a dealer for inspection, but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The contact is concern because the vehicle wasalso used to transport children for a daycare.”
