“Took my car in due to the paint being damaged by normal sunlight just on my hood, roof and trunk lid was told that it looked like it was just scratched, if that was the case wouldn't my whole car looked like that. Heard back from the dealership auto body manager admitting that gm had messed up the clear coat when it came to the dark color vehicles. …”
NHTSA complaint #11537029, filed 2023-08“Vehicle's paint is damaged. Under normal sun exposure, this vehicle has extreme hairline scratches throughout. I have taken my car to the dealership and want to blame this on animals. I do not own animals that climb on my car. On hood, roof, and trunk.the rest of the car is perfectly fine, which is strange. I have encountered more than 10 cars with the same issue. There is no reason that a 4 year old car, within normal sun conditions, should have its paint deteriorate at this rate. It is embarrassing and the dealership refuses to repaint. I still have the note on the car.”
