“My 2008 Avalanche ltz was parked on the street during a snow storm, after I started it I turned the wiper switch to delay to clear the small amount of snow on the windshield. The wipers moved form park to approximately 1/3 of full travel and stopped. I cleared the windshield with a brush and drove home (1 mile) with some difficulty. I started to troubleshoot the problem, and came to what I thought was a solution, multi-function switch was bad. Replaced switch, sill no wiper movement. …”

This is known by GM as a defect but u guys have not enforced them to fix it's a extremely expensive fix labor is high and I'm 5 for 5 on cracking dashes. 3 have cracked so bad that when the sun hit them they throw glare toward my eyes. It needs to be addressed this is crappy. …”

NHTSA complaint #11208575, filed 2019-05, 8,000 miles

NHTSA complaint #10315702, filed 2010-03, 10,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. While driving approximately 20 MPH during rainy weather, the rain sensitive wipers responded at a slow rate. The windshield had a lot of water on it because of the slow response of the wipers; the wipers did not function with snow. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that there was nothing wrong. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500 and the current mileage was approximately 30,000.”
