NHTSA complaint #10991383, filed 2017-05, 70,615 miles

“Got this car brand new off the lot with only 43 miles on it. Around 3000 miles I had my first major problem. I was going down I-95 in st. Paul, mn at around 75 miles/hr and the car jerked then cut off. Mind you this is rush hour traffic and I had 2 toddlers in the car with me. We almost got rear ended by an 18 wheeler before I could get the car to drift to shoulder. Took 3 weeks to fix the fuel pump bc the car was so new they had not made extra parts yet. …”

NHTSA complaint #10578565, filed 2014-04, 3,000 miles

“I was driving the vehicle home from work and while slowing down at a stop light, the vehicle started to shake and the check engine light came on. After that I went to accelerate when the light changed and the car would not go above 2 MPH, even with the accelerator all the way to the floor. I brought it back to the dealer for the third time since I bought it 7 months ago and they are working on it now. They said it was the part that allows fuel into the engine.”

NHTSA complaint #10639435, filed 2014-09, 75,000 miles

“My step daughter bought a brand new AVEO 2009 is has been in for repairs 13 times for the same problem. It will run fine then will not go over 20mph this has happened several times while she is driving on highway at 65 MPH has almost caused her and my young granddaughter to be injured. When she starts the car the clock will reset its self to 7:23 no matter what time it is that is usually the first sign it is getting ready to turn into a death trap. …”

NHTSA complaint #10511125, filed 2013-05, 1,900 miles

“While waiting in drive-thru for my order, my car began to shudder violently. I was idling at 1 RPM on the meter. Suddenly, my car accelerated itself up to 4 RPM. Had I not had my foot on the brake, I would have rear ended the vehicle in front of me. This persisted throughout the drive-thru and onto the roadway. I tried to accelerate and shift into second gear, but the car lost all power and then would rev up to 35mph without warning. Not once did my check engine light come on. …”
