“This has happened every few months. Most times thankfully it has only happened in parking lots. But it happened to me when I pulled out on a busy highway and it happened to my son today as he pulled out on a busy highway. I am scared for my son's safety. I paid a lot for this car as a used car from a chevy dealer I can not seem to get anyone who knows what the problem is. The chevy place said they could only help if happen while they had it. Other places have said the same. I think GM should take responsibility for making a car with a dangerous problem. …”
NHTSA complaint #10627626, filed 2014-08, 46,000 miles“The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet AVEO. While driving 35 MPH, there was a odor within the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the radio needed to be replaced due to the plastic that melted behind the climate control system. The repairs were completed under warranty. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 900. Updated 01/18/11 updated 03/23/11”
