“See: NHTSA campaign id numbers: 98v150000 & 98v150001. When I took the truck to the dealer, they said my truck was within the same year as the recalls, but my VIN # was not one of the ones being recalled. They said they would have to charge me to fix it. My truck is doing exactly the same as this recall notice says;windshield wipers and washer work intermittently. Please advise as soon as possible; should I get this fixed on my own and will I be reimbursed? Thanks for your help! Roger jacobson.”

NHTSA complaint #714968, filed 1999-11

“Consumer contacted dealer in reference to recall number 98v15001/manufacturer's recall 98043 and 96c26 concerning windshield wiper motor malfunctioning. Dealer stated this vehicle not included in the recall although consumer was experiencing the same type of problems as stated in the recalls. Also, while dealer was aware of other recalls, manufacturer was not aware of any other recalls.”

NHTSA complaint #859995, filed 2000-04

“Windshield wiper wiring causes the wipers to work intermittently. Sometimes they would come on & work just fine. Other times would be on & would just stop. This would cause the driver to have poor visibility when driving. Its a safety hazard. Part of recall 98v150000/001.”

NHTSA complaint #843688, filed 1999-07

“While driving windshield wipers malfunctioned, causing visual difficulty which may result in a crash. Recall 98v150 deals with same problem, but this vehicle is not inlcuded in the recall due to VIN. Problem has not yet been corrected.”

NHTSA complaint #864225, filed 2000-06

“While using windshield wipers in a rain storm, they stopped working, and consumer could not see anything on the road. This was the same exact problem as covered in recall 98v150001. However, this vehicle was not included due to VIN.”
