Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The driver's side seat belt retractor failed. The springs popped out of the plastic, causing the spring to no longer hold tension. The driver's side seat belt would no longer hold the belt tensioner to adjust to the driver's body. The seat belts retractor spring had broken through the plastic retainer, which caused the belt to stay permanently in the full extended position.”

NHTSA complaint #10075757, filed 2004-07, 120,000 miles

“Driver's side seat belt is fully extended out and will not retract, causing the seat belt to be inoperative. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer has yet to replace parts.”
