“This vehicle has a intermittent problem with the engine throttle, the engine suddenly races while driving down the road or starting out. It is very dangerous to drive since you never know when it will take off on you. I have already spent enough money on this truck including a $1000.00 clutch repair which surprisingly surfaced after the warrenty period (43k). I can't afford to fix any more of chevies problems so I am hoping you could help me by doing what-ever you can in resolving this issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #737156, filed 2000-12“The vehicle will at any but it has happend 7 times prior to 06/24/01 it occured four times that day. When getting up to highway speed , something takes over the accelerator and the only way it can be stopped is turn the key and put truck in neutral. With the key off you lose braking. I have had it in for repair four times in the last two months. I have called chev customer service no one can help me. This truck has been doing this since new harrell chev went out of business I did have it on record I think. I carried it to the buick/chev dealer no help. …”
