“Traveling at 65 MPH brakes all of a sudden the brakes were applied w/o applying them loss of steering control etc. Evaluating this problem ii saw that the brake pedal was going down to the floor, so I pulled up on it with my foot and the brakes released but steering control did not resume. I got off at the next exit and very slowly made my way on home. Any application of the brake pedal resulted in brakes locking up and they were applied so tightly that any acceleration could not speed up unless I pulled up on the brake pedal. …”

“We have a 2001 chevy 2500 hd truck and have also had issues with a faulty fuel gauge where it goes from showing the fuel level to dropping down and the low fuel sensor showing. We also have the gas pedal that sticks. Several of our friends have owned chevys at some point and have had similar issues. These should definitely be recalled. We have lived with these issues for a couple of years. We shouldn't have to pay several hundred dollars to repair issues that several chevy owners are all experiencing.”

NHTSA complaint #10404488, filed 2011-06

“The contact stated while approaching a stop, driving 5 MPH and applying the brakes, the anti- lock brake system activated. This caused an increased stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. Upon inspection the speed sensor hub was corroded due to road salt and was replaced. There is a NHTSA recall, # 05v379000, regarding the service brakes, anti-lock. The consumers vehicle identification number was not included in the recall. The alternator failed. The rotors and brakes had to be replaced due to the rotors rusting from the inside. …”

NHTSA complaint #10156085, filed 2006-04, 75,000 miles

“A prodigy electronic brake control is installed on consumers vehicle, consumer states that on rain slick roads, the braking is seriously reduced, the prodigy is not able to send a signal to the two axles on the trailer as quickly as the other brakes are activated, this caused consumer to go through an intersection.”
