“Valve stem on tire broke, immediate loss of air, it was an inside dually tire which saved me from getting in a wreck. If it would have been a front tire I would have lost control, at the time I was going 50 MPH. Could have been fatal.”
NHTSA complaint #10163862, filed 2006-07, 4,345 miles“Valve stem (inflation valve) ruptured and caused tire to deflate. This was the second valve stem to rupture on this truck. The valve stem is available for inspection. The valve stem from the first incident is not available.”
NHTSA complaint #10239605, filed 2008-08, 38,500 miles“During a trip with 6 month old tires, two out of 6 tires failed. One was a deemed a road hazard by the manufacturer. Given these tires were purchased and installed on a tow vehicle with ratings for the vehicle and failed on a 75 degree day with a light mist. I would suspect that the tires are not capable of meeting the rated specs. The tires were purchased january from treadwright corp.”
