“Rear hatch (tailgate) window will release while driving without warning. This has happened on numerous occasions. When this occurs, all the interior lights come on, which can be quite dangerous at night. In addition, items can fall out of the unsecured rear hatch (tailgate) window. I have tried lubricating the mechanism, as well as checking regularly that it is secured, but there has been no improvement.”

An NHTSA recall, #05v494000 was performed on the vehicle concerning, the latches/locks/linkages: doors: latch however; the recall did not remedy the problem.
