“I will be driving on a half a tank of gas, just up to town, 1mi, all of a sudden, it goes to low fuel and I will stall. I was stuck on the side of the road with 6 kids for 2 hours before I could find help. This happens all the time. I can have almost a full tank and park on a hill and it will go red and low fuel. Cannot get any help with this problem.”

“I filled my van Uplander 2005 with gasoline and still show low fuel , the check engine light comes on and replace the cap light comes up, but was replaced and still the same. I changed battery of the car. Is there any recall?”

NHTSA complaint #10341774, filed 2010-07, 58,400 miles

“The fuel gague registered about 1/4 full. I put 19 gallons of fuel in the tank. When I cranked the vehicle, the message was low fuel and the red light came on while the gage indicated empty. I parked the car for a couple of days and turned on the ignition several times with the same result. Today I cranked it and the gage shows that it is full and the message and red light are gone. My concern is that it will do it again when we are away from home and the vehicle will stop running. I have yet to contact a dealer since our local dealer went out of business.”

NHTSA complaint #10266830, filed 2009-04, 57,000 miles

“The car intermittently tries to start the crank keeps turning but does not start. As well as I was traveling on freeway with a big rig on the side of me and the car stalled and steering locked. Thank god I managed to glide over to the exit lane. I was terrified as was my passenger. When I looked at the gauges I noticed I was out of gas, but I had just put in $20 . Chevy sent out tow truck to give me gas, but car still would not start. Finally hours later car was taken to chevy. When Uplander was finished they said it was electrical short due to water in lines. …”

NHTSA complaint #10200759, filed 2007-08, 11,000 miles

“The same investigation regarding gmc envoy and buick ranier should be expanded to include the chevy Uplander, I own a 2005 Uplander and it is exhibiting the exact same issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10398331, filed 2011-04, 60,000 miles
