“I was stopped with the car in park when the engine started revving up and the car started lounging forward. I threw the car into park and it stopped. I looked down and my foot was only on the brake and the floor mat was where it was supposed to be.”

NHTSA complaint #10410361, filed 2011-07, 112,457 miles

“Purchased a vehicle on 3-29-08. Service engine light came on two days later. I took it to the dealership approx. Two days after that. They advised me that I must have left the gas cap opened. I advised them I had not yet gotten any gas b/c I received car on a full tank. They checked the vehicle and stated they saw nothing wrong. The transmission was then whining. It got louder I took it back they put a quart of transmission fuel. …”

NHTSA complaint #10240989, filed 2008-09, 63,000 miles

“I was struck from the back, while taking foot off the brake, I attempted to proceed from a stop sign in shopping mall. Due to delay, from a bad transmission from day 1 when I first purchased vehicle from felix Chevrolet, la ca it holds up traffic. I took my foot off brake after stopping at stop sign and it appeared to driver that I was moving forward. Yet, the delay causes danger from behind and I'm still encountering delays from the date of purchase, 2006 up until now. Felix denied anything was wrong with after I complained and had them test transmission problem within 30 days of purchase. …”

NHTSA complaint #10490520, filed 2012-12, 75,000 miles

“On april 27, 2007 Chevrolet Venture was involved in an accident involving another car when our four year old son was somehow able to put the car in neutral when the car was off. In trying to figure out how he did it we have discovered that approximately 30-50 % of the time the car can be taken out of park without engaging the brake. We have been able to determine through trial that this can be done at any stage of the vehicles operation whether it is off or most dangerously even if the engine is running. We feel 100% that this was the cause of the accident that happened. …”

NHTSA complaint #10189794, filed 2007-05, 48,040 miles

“The gear is suppose to lock for safety, and only be applied when the brake is applied as child safety protection. Consumer's child got into the vehicle, placed it into gear, and crashed the vehicle, nearly injuring several children on a playground. No one was injured, however, the vehicle collided with a swing set.”
