Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Passenger front heated seat for no apparent reason began smoldering and two small burn holes came through the seat cushion. Vehicle was parked at the time and the ignition was off, and the car was unoccupied. this incident was reported to Chrysler and the car was taken to a dealer for inspection. The inspector's report indicated that this was not caused by a manufactures defect and told me to contact my insurance company. I do not agree with these findings and think that this matter should be investigated further as a dangerous fire might occur.”
