Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The fuel rail on my 3.3l engine failed, the crossover tube sprayed onto the exaust and soaked the engine compartment with fuel. I was not able to purchase a replacement part from the dealer because all of the 'replasement parts' they have for 3.3l fuel rail are for 'recalls only'. So I get a engine fire and lose my car because I cant buy the parts I need because it is a 'recall' item... But not on my car. Or on anyone that drives a car like mine.”

NHTSA complaint #740279, filed 2001-02

“Gas everywhere and could have easily caught fire if I had started car and drove off without noticing smell-my wife would have driven off and been killed most likely.”

NHTSA complaint #708378, filed 1999-07
