“Transmission went into limp-home mode (locked in 2nd gear. Also showed slippage in r-d shift. Mechanic diagnosed problem as failure in internal valving. He also found a dscarded cigarette bet in the valve body. Transmission not repairable. Replaced transmission and transmission sensors, to the tune of $2,800. Spoke to Chrysler's customer relations department before authorizing repair. They flatly refused to offer any goodwill adjustment, because I was second owner. …”
