“I am having a problem with the A/C, heater switching to blow out through the defrost when accelerating or under load causing poor cooling/heating. I talked to chrysler and they said it would cost to figure out what is causing it to switch. I have had the compressor replaced while it was under warranty because it was leaking. I had to replace the cooling fan after warranty. It failed again almost a year later. But the part was replaced with only installation cost. I would be interested in knowing what other things can be done to solve the problem of switching to defrost. …”
NHTSA complaint #10070370, filed 2004-01, 120,000 miles“Air conditioner has failed twice;we had it repaired the first time. Mechanism controling the drivers seat back has failed twice, allowing the back of the seat to fall into a horizontal position while driving. We took it to the dealer and had it fixed the first time. When we took it back the second time, the dealer told us to visit a junkyard and purchase a seat there-dealer was not interested in fixing the problem. Seat is now rigged with a cable to keep seat back upright.”
NHTSA complaint #748305, filed 2001-07“Steering was loose. Took vehicle to dealer, and they said not to drive because rack and pinion steering broke on right side. Consumer has had problems with vehicle previously, air condition failed and major transmission repair.”
NHTSA complaint #889278, filed 2001-05“Faulty latch caused the sliding door not to close, consumer took vehicle to the dealer but dealer had no parts available, dealer said they would order part and contact consumer but a year has passed and still no notification. Nlm”

Took vehicle to mechanic, and they had to go under the dashboard, they fixed the leak. One month before, had to put a brand new transmission. Then driveshaft belt broke. Consumer has had nothing but problems with this vehicle. Left door switch failed. Heater core, evaporator, condenser, o- rings and seals all replaced. Starter failed. Engine timing case cover, gaskets seals belt and tensioners failed.”
