The engine kept running, the horn was still blowing, wipers still going with washer fluid spraying and door locking and unlocking. I took the battery cable loose and this all kept going on! It ran for about 5 more minutes and then stopped. I left the battery unhooked over night thinking it may reset. …”

I had it towed to Dodge dealership and three days later I received a phone call stating that it was my tipm. I have read a lot of complaints and I see even if replaced it may still have issues. NHTSA complaint #10641827, filed 2014-10, 104,148 miles

“When I tried to start the Dodge Nitro the doors locked , horn blows, wipers and fluid run. And now the car wont start at all. Unhooked the battery terminal and hooked it back up, doors all lock with keys inside. There was a recall on 2007 nitros for the same reasons. Why wont they fix the 2008 models as well. There really needs to be a recall on this”
