“The entire front end of my truck has been going out. Tie rods, sway bar end links, cv axles, upper and lower ball joints. My back glass isn't sealed properly and pours water in the cab when it rains drenching my passengers or whatever I am carrying in the backseat, the water pools up under the seats and I routinely have to mask the smell from it”
NHTSA complaint #11307943, filed 2020-02, 140,000 miles“While traveling on i95, and this is not the first or only time it has happened, the front of the truck started shaking violently. It was shaking so much that the cars around me could see that it was happening. There is a very good potential that if I had not had a good control of the steering wheel that I could have lost control.”
NHTSA complaint #10639199, filed 2014-09, 89,000 miles“There is a safety recall on certain Dodge ram tie rods (recall #l16) but for some reason my VIN was not included in this recall. Sure enough the tie rod was near failing and I had it replaced before a catastrophic failure could occur. Why was my VIN left off of this recall? The signs and conditions of my faulty tie rod are identical to all of the documented failures.”
NHTSA complaint #10457928, filed 2012-05, 51,000 miles“Dodge ram 2008 quad cab 1500 series. At the time I called into Dodge I had roughly 60 thousand miles on my truck. I contacted Dodge in 2014 and they told me although that was the model and series that was part of a recall that my particular VIN was not eligible for a recall . The problems I had endured were swaying of the truck almost to the extent where the tire felt like it was wobbling and the truck shaking when I excellerated over 50 mphs . …”
NHTSA complaint #10837346, filed 2016-02, 65 miles“I am the owner of a 2008 Dodge ram mega cab. The truck currently has 30,000 miles and is 3 years old. Recently I have experienced the so called death wobble several times. The vehicle will travel over a series of bumps at speed or one larger bump and the truck will shake uncontrollably until speed is reduced. Through research I have found that this dw is a common problem with the Dodge truck.”
