Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The windshield appears weak having many pock marks in it. This causes the windshield wipers to need to be replaced often. The dash is severely cracked and we are afraid that this is going to cause the air bag to rupture on the passenger side (besides the fact that it is coming apart).”

NHTSA complaint #10747871, filed 2015-08, 100,000 miles

“The dash board on this vehicle is cracking all over. It has cracked around the passenger airbag and pieces have fallen into the airbag compartment. This has not caused injury yet, but if involved in an accident, the broken pieces will definitely cause injury and I hope that they do not affect the airbag deployment. Pieces blow into your face while running the defrost which if struck in the eye could cause an accident.”

NHTSA complaint #10632508, filed 2014-09, 82,100 miles

“The dashboard and HVAC system has cracked to pieces causing the defrosters to be inoperable most of the time and constantly blows pieces of plastic and foam out of the vents occasionally getting in the driver's eyes and nose causing sneezing and distracting irritation.”

NHTSA complaint #11004058, filed 2017-07

“The air pressure coming out of the vents was minimal while driving and just above minimal when in park. This is an all the time situation. Was told it could be a few things: blend door, circulation or vacuum issue. I started searching the issue online and found entire forums devoted to these issues. It was recommended that people file a complaint because it was agreed that a recall was or should be in order on that particular part or housing.”
