“Year 2000 Dodge Ram Van driver side front brake line rubs on chassis and eventually ruptures under hard stopping condition. Has happened to two yr 2000 Dodge ram vans in our fleet, one a 1500 model, one a 2500 model. Interesting the replacement brake lines we purchased had a different bend to clear the chassis but no recall has been issued.”
NHTSA complaint #10329084, filed 2010-05, 140,000 miles“2000 Dodge full size van I believe that the small and crowded floor caused me to have an accident. I was in a drive-through line. When I went to move ahead my foot covered both the brake and accelerator. The harder I pressed on the brake the faster the vehicle went. The vehicle became uncontrollable for a while and I hit the vehicle in front of me.”
NHTSA complaint #10165138, filed 2006-08, 45,000 miles“In march 03- had just bought the van and had to return to chrysler dealer to have passenger side rotor and bearing set replaced. Mileage only 30,700. Now in february 05- just had both sides of bearings replaced along with driver side rotor with mileage only at 67,800.”
NHTSA complaint #10112212, filed 2005-02, 30,707 miles“The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Ram Van. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but only the front brakes functioned. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The brake warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the computer needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000. The VIN was not available.”
