“My vehicle at the time of the incident had 350 miles on the odometer. As I was driving down the street I felt a liquid splash onto my left foot and leg. At this same time I noticed the engine cut off and I was coasting without power. I quickly avoided traffic and pulled over to the side of the road. As I was unsure what liquid was on my foot and leg, I shut off the ignition key and turned it back on to witness the system trying to prime the fuel injection which caused gasoline to pour out the left side, from underneath the gas tank and onto the hot engine. …”
NHTSA complaint #10889355, filed 2016-07, 350 miles“I picked the motorcycle up from having throttle cable replaced, and rode it home about 75 miles. I went out the next morning, and when I started it the fuel pump was making a loud noise. I ran it a bit and the fuel pump was whining the whole time. I took the bike back to the dealer, and they advised the fuel pump was functioning, but failing. They said they replaced the fuel pump and the seals inside the tank. I picked the bike up on 8/28/15 and rode it about 150 more miles through 9/2/15. On 9/2/15, the bike stalled, and wouldn't start back up. …”
