“I had the known reported issue TSB 25-BE-004G repaired and even after repair there is a burning wire smell that the dealer claims they can’t replicate. We had the same issue with Genesis Plano initially and after driving the vehicle out of state we were stranded and took it to Genesis of Peoria where the issue was diagnosed. We are encountering the issue again and it is a fire risk hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #11751167, filed 2026-07“NHTSA Recall Number 24V-107 I received notice of this recall in February. I was warned of a fire risk. I keep calling the dealer and reaching out to Genesis corporate and no remedy is available. It has been several months and this is unacceptable given the safety risk.”
NHTSA complaint #11595307, filed 2024-06“My engine auto start/stop feature. Yes its available for inspection. My safety and others were put at risk because this auto stop/start feature will shut the engine down comlpetely and teh system willm ake you do a full restart. I've had sveeral extreme close calls when I stopped at the light and this feature shut my car down completely and I was almost hit because I was stuck out in the middle of traffic. My car is at the service repair now. …”
NHTSA complaint #11583355, filed 2024-04“I had a sudden loss of power when driving and the car would not start back up. It could be due to the current HPFP recall that is active on the car. The Genesis Southfield, MI dealership was informed about my car being a Canadian VIN and they accepted to take my car. So I tow it there for $500 and then they refuse to work on it saying they “are not allowed to do recall campaigns on Canadian VIN”. I called Genesis Canada to which they said if the dealership calls them they can send them the foreign work process documentation. …”
NHTSA complaint #11769546, filed 2026-10“However, the oil pressure light seems to flash on and off when it wants too. After doing an oil change every 3,500k miles, it started to turn on recently. I’ve checked the oil and everything seems to be fine. I’ve seen multiple forums with others having the same defect and since the car is made in Korea, Korea has a recall for the same exact issue. Some people are being turned away from shops because of the location of oil pressure sensor but also cracking the aluminum the sensor sits in or in some the timing cover. …”
