NHTSA complaint #10176114, filed 2006-12“The contact owns 2006 Gmc Canyon. The contact was involved in a crash. The impact crashed into the front end of the vehicle when the air bags deployed. The contact was burned on the top left side of his arm; however, he was not hospitalized. A police report was filed. The insurance company towed the vehicle to the dealer to be repaired. The failure and current mileage was 64,000.”

The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the driver crashed into the front passenger door of another vehicle that failed to yield right-of-way. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy and the driver sustained injuries to the head and arms. The police department was called to the scene to assist and a police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle had not been inspected to diagnose the air bag failure. The failure and current mileage was 25,000.”
