“We have a 2017 Gmc Canyon diesel with 56570 miles on it. While we were driving down the street (it was raining) going about 30 miles an hour and all of the sudden the service stabilitrak censor came on am it instantly put the brake on. We turned the truck on and off. Over and over letting it sit for more that a minute completely and still nothing....we were down the street from our house and my husband had to push it home. …”

“Constantly getting a message and beeping to service my trailer brake system while in park and driving. I’ve never used this before for towing any trailers or anything. This message and beeping cause a distraction and i find it to be dangerous. And the fact I’ve never used this is quite annoying.”

NHTSA complaint #11479157, filed 2022-08

“While Driving on the interstate, we were needing to stop because of traffic. The brake pedal became very stiff and was barely able to stop the car. We brought the vehicle into a brake shop to have it looked at. The mechanic stated it was most likely the Master cylinder. We replaced that. It still was having the same issue. In total we replaced the Master cylinder, Brake Booster, Rotors, brake pads, and calipers. A few weeks later the recall for Brake Eboost system came out. All of our signs and symptoms point to this. We are wanting to have our truck evaluated for the recall. …”

“The contact owns a 2017 GMC Canyon. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated, and the message Check Trailer Brakes” was displayed. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the braking system randomly activated, causing the vehicle to abruptly decelerate. On several occasions while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to immediately stop, causing the braking distance to be extended by approximately 8 feet. …”
