Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Gmc is admitting to a faulty gas tank and only covers this up to 150,000 miles I bought the car after the 150,000 miles and now have gas leaking the tank was never fixed. Why does the mileage make a difference? This is a major safety issue that Gmc should cover regardless of the mileage. Just because my gas tank did not leak as soon as other ones did means I should not be covered? A recall is a recall and they should be responsible for fixing the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10851210, filed 2016-03, 174,000 miles

“This is all over the internet. Plastic gas tank leaks. Gmc does not care. I talked with them they ignore repair is $1,600.00 or more. People are fixing with glue? Gasoline spill from cracked plastic fuel tank.”
