“Decorative sleeve loop of trenchcoat snagged door handle while backing out of home garage and the driver's door fully opened. Approximately two months later unfortunately I did it again but this time as I was backing out of the garage I was positioning the vehicle to the right. When the door opened, the door weight partially pulled me from the vehicle. I quickly pulled back with right hand on the steering wheel and ripped the sleeve of my london fog. I contacted general motors and stated my claim. …”

I fastened the seat belt, started the vehicle, shifted to reverse and sat back (same motion), and the loop on the overcoat snagged the door handle and opened the door while I was backing up. Unfortunately, my driveway dictates that I back up to the right side. The weight of the opening door literally attempts to pull you out of the seat. I reported this to dealer and they laughed and told me not to wear a london fog style overcoat when I drive. …”
