  Reported issue: These vehicles can experience an accumulation of hydrogen in the battery compartment which, if an ignition source were present, can ignite.

  Possible consequence: This condition can cause the ignition gas to ignite resulting in damage to the vehicle and the increased potential for occupant injury.

  Remedy: Gm has modified the battery compartment vent and has also inspected the battery packs on all vehicles for the possibility of gas leakage from the batteries.
