Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Vehicle moving on hard surface. Steering turned to limit and abruptly, wheel is whipped back away from limit. The action is so severe, it whipped out of my hands and I tracked to the opposing lane. This happened again in a parking lot when I was lining up in a parking slot. Gm service bulletin: #pit5405a recommends fixes. Gm needs to be proactive on this or someone could become injured or worse.”

NHTSA complaint #10873294, filed 2016-06, 28,000 miles

“Whenever you turn the steering wheel, there is a noise that come from it and it sounds like a clunking noise as sometimes will not let you turn past that point. It will do it when it is stationary or driving. It also sounds like it is coming from the steering rack.”
