2009 GMC Sierra Technical Service Bulletins

287 technical service bulletins (TSBs) are on record for the 2009 GMC Sierra. TSBs are notes manufacturers send to dealers about repair procedures for issues seen in the field. They are not recalls and do not by themselves mean a vehicle has a fault.

Upon investigation, the technician may find dtc b0071 set in the passenger presence system (pps) and a dtc b0081 in the sensing and diagnostics module (sdm).

• 10032889Jun 1, 2009Engine cooling. Gmc/chevrolet: dtc p0101 with non gm air filter. May encounter concern of reduced power and ses light on. Diagnostics may reveal maf (mass air flow) sensor dtc p0101. If diagnostics were inconclusive its possible dtc p0101 is setting due to a non gm air filter. Non gm air filters have shown a slightly higher than normal maf reading.

During disassembly of the transmission technicians may find that the 2-4 band (item 602 in si document 1553208) and the overrun clutch (645) are both distressed while no other clutches are damaged.
