“My denali has a bad crack on the dash board and I hit a bump a piece of the plastic flew and cut my face , the dash is getting worse and this is becoming a liability. I will be contacting my attorney and the bbb, about this dangerous issue. I'm glad it was me and not my children that got injured.”

NHTSA complaint #11191744, filed 2019-03, 100,000 miles

“Hey andy I have a 2013 Gmc Yukon Denali Xl. I got it october 2014, and will have owned it three (3) years this october. At about 40,000 miles, I discovered a crack on my dash near the air bag on the passenger side. This was about a year ago. I put in a complaint and they (Gmc) told me to take my truck to a local dealer ship and they would sale me the dash at cost, but I would have to pay for the labor. The total cost would be about $800.00. I told them the truck is just a few thousand miles out of warranty and this should not be my responsibility to repair a manufacturer's defect. …”

NHTSA complaint #10986010, filed 2017-05, 40,000 miles

“Small crack appeared suddenly in top center of dashboard that was barely noticeable from driver's seat but could be seen in the passenger's seat. Didn't think much at the time, but over the course of just over a year, the center of the dash vibrates excessively when driving on majority of surfaces that becomes very loud. Contacted GM since my standard warranty has expired and this is not covered under my extended warranty due to safety concerns with airbag in case of accident. I took to get estimate of cost to repair and owner had same issue with both his Gmc yukon's and his was replaced free. …”

NHTSA complaint #11052751, filed 2017-12, 58,000 miles

“A crack formed from the passenger side airbag compartment extending to the center dash vent without cause or incident. The vehicle was stationary parked in my garage at the time the crack occurred. The dash now rattles and squeaks and sags in the middle of the dash.”

NHTSA complaint #11023343, filed 2017-09, 68,975 miles

“Dash started to have two cracks, one on each side of dash. Each crack has continued to run. The one on the left has now extended to area over the speedometer dome, the other crack has extended into the seam of the airbag on the right side of the dash. Very concerned that airbag compartment is compromised. These cracks were not caused by any type of accident. The car sits under carport 90% of the time. My research shows that there are thousands of Gmc owners having the same issue. I am worried that my spouse, grandchildren, or any other front seat passenger may be severly injured. …”
