“While riding on a flat state road (md rt 124) I went to use the front brake by pulling in the brake lever and it suddenly went all the way to the throttle/hand grip. I thankfully still had rear brake and was able to slow down and stop. Upon releasing the lever and pulling it again the brake pumped back up. However, once released the lever went right back to the throttle again. So essentially I had no function in the front brakes. I shut off the motorcycle, turned ignition switch on and as normal the ABS light started to flash. …”

NHTSA complaint #11340250, filed 2020-07, 55,700 miles

“While traveling at an estimated thirty miles per hour, the front (anti-lock) braking system activated and locked, causing the motorcycle's front wheel to skid and cause a low side fall.”

NHTSA complaint #10648181, filed 2014-10, 2,000 miles

“I could not pull my front brake and almost crashed. My front brake lever is so stiff you can’t pull it at all. I searched on the internet and seen they only recalled motorcycles till 2011 and there are so many people with the same problems with 2012 and up. This is a very serious situation especially when it comes to brake failure.”

NHTSA complaint #11473213, filed 2022-07

“I was driving my 2013 Harley Road Glide Custom FLTRX As I was attempting to stop the front brake was impossible to operate I had to use just the rear brakes. I was able to squeeze it very hard and it functioned a little then the brake went all the way to the handle bar. I just barely avoided a collision. I then bled the brakes and checked the calipers and replaced pads and brake lines but further diagnosis revealed the ABS module is blocking the braking pressure. This is dangerous and needs to be recallled.”
