“2005 Accord Hybrid - ima failure, takata recall air bags, and power steering failures. I have taken my hybrid in several times in the last 8 years with the ima and engine light on. Dealer did 2 computer upgrades to fix it. Not fixed ; I still have the ima and engine light on. Now no power steering or $1500.00 to fix that and Honda sent me home with it not fixed - not safe! At one point I had no power as I was driving home from seattle to portland with no accelarator power. It was like I was coasting at 50 MPH for about 75 miles until I reached my home. …”
NHTSA complaint #10881473, filed 2016-06, 25,000 miles“While slowing down on interstate highway, vehicle rammed into vehicle in front of it. All the damage was to the front of the vehicle and the vehicle was drivable after the collision. During the collision the passenger air bag deployed while the driver's air bag failed to deploy. There was no passenger in the car.”
NHTSA complaint #11172525, filed 2019-01, 80,000 miles“Verified with Honda that airbags were not included in the recall. Vehicle was involved in a front end collision at a high speed (over 50 MPH) on the highway (after the car in front stopped suddenly) and airbags did not deploy. The car passed pa state inspection 3 days before, and there were no warning or indicator lights illuminated.”
NHTSA complaint #11039778, filed 2017-10, 152,000 miles“Takata recall the airbag warning light intermittently comes on and stays on when the car is started. It continues to remain illuminated somedays and then not at all on others. However, our concern is that the airbags will deploy in an accident and that the metal chards they are known to explode is worse than no airbag! The intermittent nature of the problem means it can't be diagnosed and repaired. …”
NHTSA complaint #10887993, filed 2016-07, 91,000 miles“Takata recall air bag warning light illuminates intermittently. Stays illuminated while vehicle is in motion. Stays illuminated while ignition is on, until subsequent restart of car. Dealer claims they have no information and doesn't know if it is part of takata recall.”
