“The windshield wipers got crossed up while in use which ended up breaking one of the blades. I turned the wipers off > uncrossed the blades > turned the wipers back on > and the wipers would only cycle about half way up the window before returning to the rest position. A week later I turned the wipers on to drive in the rain and the drivers side wiper will not move while the passenger side does. The passenger blade is below the drivers side blade, so the passenger blade hits the non-moving drivers side blade which actually knocked the passenger side blade off the arm.”
NHTSA complaint #10502291, filed 2013-03, 110,000 miles“Wipers on 08 Honda Civic Hybrid go on every time the car ignition is started. After 7-8 swishes, wipers stop in the middle of the windshield. Honda service bulletin 07-071 reported this issue on 9/24/10 and recommends replacing windshield wiper motor cover plate. Other internet searches recommend replacing the entire motor assembly 76505-sna-a02. Dealer repair quote was over $500: $117 for the motor assembly plus labor. …”

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.”
