Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Dip stick showed good oil level. However, upon driving it one day the engine blew and the low oil warning light did not come on. Engine consumed oil enough that it threw a rod bearing. Replaced the bearings and it ran about 24 miles and it happened again. This time it destroyed the crank in number 2 cylinder. Honda corp. Wasn't very friendly about the problem but there seems to be a problem with oil distribution in this car.”

NHTSA complaint #10233734, filed 2008-07, 27,000 miles

“Consumer states that while driving, the main bearings in engine failed causing engine to blow on 06-28-02. Original engine had 35,600 miles on it. The dealer replaced engine and incident occured again on 9-8-02 with 27k miles on replacement engine.. Ts”
