“While traveling on the main roads the speedometer intermittently malfunctions then drops to zero, whereas I'm literally unable to determine my speed this seems to occur when the engine warms up and I been driving for better than a half hour.”
NHTSA complaint #11415074, filed 2021-05, 41,280 miles“While driving on I-81 near winchester, va., I noticed my speedometer moving erratically. I have not driven it much since this mishap. As of august 4, 2014 the mileage is only 55,264. I just noticed a suit filed against GM for this problem. I was never notified about any recall. Is there any recourse for me?”
NHTSA complaint #10618748, filed 2014-08, 49,588 miles“Starting in october 2013 my speedometer has not functioned properly. It does not display the correct speed no matter how fast or slow you are going. It is either stuck at 0 or bottoms out over 120. I have no idea how fast I am driving unless I use my portable GPS that shows speed. If it wasn't for my GPS then I could get into an accident or get a ticket because I would not know how fast I am going. This is a manufacture defect as I am not the only Hummer owner with this issue. Gm needs to fix this problem asap.”
NHTSA complaint #10649890, filed 2014-10, 5 miles“My tachometer was starting to stick and not it doesn't move at all. Now my speedometer is starting to stick. The consequences of no speedometer are tickets, accidents from not being able to go safe speeds in various conditions.”
NHTSA complaint #10377924, filed 2011-01, 70,000 miles“Speedometer not working at all. 0 always. Sometimes when I drive 40-50 ml/h then it works but is not correct and then goes to zero again. I have to get it fix to know how fast im going.”
