Summary

Thirteen incidents of axle failure have now been identified.eight of these failures have occurred in the last six months - 4/03 to 8/03.recent information indicates that there may be manufacturing problems with the axle spindles.during the ea investigation axles will be obtained and examined and tested as appropriate.

An NHTSA investigation looks into whether a safety defect exists. Opening one is not a finding. Outcomes can include a recall, closure without action, or further inquiry.
