“Parking brake fault/e-brake module ...my vehicle was stationary and my attempt to start the vehicle I was unable to move it out of gear. I took it to the dealership and they offered to repair or replace the e brake module. My furher reserach indicatedt that this is an existing problem with different years of this model car that have been previously been recalled by the car manufacture. The dealer and the manufacture appears to be aware of this pre-existing problem with these cars and have fail to correct or address the problem.”

Approximately 1 month ago I started having an issue with the electronic parking brake not releasing itself when the car was shifted out of the park position. It takes a good 15-20 minutes of driving the vehicle and applying the brakes several times before the electronic parking brake will disengage itself. It has gotten to the point now that the brake pads have worn to the point of initial grinding noise being heard, which is a clear indicator of excessive wear. …”
