“In feb 2015 my 07 Jeep wrangler started making odd noises and running poorly than is stopped. My Jeep had 69,500 miles on it and a service was done within 1,500 miles. It was towed to the service center- it did not have a drop of oil in it and the engine was blown. There was no indication of a oil leak anywhere! No warning lights came on either. Jeep refused to even listen or assist in any way. $6k later...... I have a new engine and check it every week! Now when I park and get back in the Jeep it wont start- wont even turn over. It will finally start after 4-5 turns of the key. …”
NHTSA complaint #10788312, filed 2015-11, 69,500 miles“There was not a fire but thought there was and 911 was called. I had the oil changed in march and again in july. In septermber there was a clicking noise coming from the engine and I pulled into a drive way and shut off the engine. I asked someone to look at it and when they tried to start the engine smoke came out of the vents and engine would not turn over. Turns out, that the Jeep had no oil in it and the engine burned up. The repair for a new engine is $5200. There were no warning lights at all. No change oil notice , low oil pressure light, overtemp light, or check engine light. …”
