“Sudden acceleration. I was pulling my Kia Amanti (which I love) into a parking stall in a very crowded supermarket parking lot. I was braking to stop when my car accelerated. I did not notice the rpms. But it accelerated hard, and my foot on the brake did not stop it. I plowed into the back of a vehicle in the opposite stall pushing it approx 10 feet before my car also hit 10 cement pole that was there to protect a powerplant (I think) at the edge of the parking strip. The pole stopped my car. …”

The vehicle was taken the to the dealer for inspection where they advised that the molding would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they stated that there was nothing that could be done to assist. The failure mileage was 80,000.”
