Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I was driving on a surface road at approximately 30mph when my vehicle suddenly hit the brakes and came to a complete stop for no reason. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it, several error messages came up on the dashboard and the vehicle would not go into neutral or any other gear.”

NHTSA complaint #11770331, filed 2026-10

“I was stopped at Starbucks in a small business area. I needed to make a sharp left turn to get out of there to get back on the highway, I would typically go very slow as to not hit any parked cars etc. As soon as I went forward the car took off so fast I put both feet on the brakes. The car usually sets alarms off for everything! I looked for somewhere I could go to each side so as not to go on the highway. There was nowhere. I was going so fast at this point I was afraid to turn. I went straight across and hit an oncoming car. I then hit a cement planted area for bushes in the parking lot. …”
