“While driving 20 MPH engine and transmission fell out of the vehicle. As a result the steering failed. Dealer stated sub frame corroded. Recall 98v323000 was issued for the lower cradle bolts. However, a different part of the cradle bolts failed so the consumer has to pay for the repairs.”

NHTSA complaint #10094466, filed 2004-09, 223,000 miles

“The door locks would not always automatically lock when the car was put into drive when I purchased it. I took it back in several times and had it checked but they could never repair the problem. Now the doors will not lock at all unless it is done manually. The remote and keyless entry will not work either. The automatic leveling system makes an awful whirring noise now that the dealer says is normal. It wasn't normal when the car was new because it did not make that noise.”

The failure was not diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The failure mileage was 147,000.”
