1985: “Hi my car experienced an electrical short to the compressor motor for my 1985 Lincoln continental Mark Vii. I called ford motor dealers and then ford motor co. All of them said there was no recalls for my 1985. I am being lied to by them as I have found information contrary to their statements to me. Nhtsa campaign number : 85v040000 I have also experienced brake problems similar to NHTSA campaign number : 86v109000. I believe they should be responsible enough to at least acknowledge there were recalls for my model. …”
NHTSA complaint #10156476, filed 2006-051988: “While driving at any speed, when attempting to brake, the brake pedal is hard and there is no brakes whatsover , no matter how hard you push down. After stopping with emergency brakes, the brakes return to normal. This has happened numerous times and we have had the car serviced by our local ford dealer as well as other repair centers and they cannot locate the problem. This car is unafe to drive and we don't know what to do. It is too valuable to junk but we may have to.”
NHTSA complaint #730026, filed 2000-091991: “When I apply my brakes, the pedal gets hard and the car shakes and I am not sure that it will stop..after a second if I push hard enough the pedal will go all the way to the floor and I am never sure it is going to stop. I have taken it to the local dealership and they cannot fix it. I hate driving the car in heavy traffic because I am never sure that I will be able to stop. Is there anything that can be done instead of waiting for a complete failure for this problem to be fixed??”
