“Bought the 2017 Levante in june 2017 and since september 2017, have experience multiple occurrences of the vehicle popping into neutral while either in drive or reverse at different speeds. Our local dealership/service manager is aware and has on record, they've experience the issue first hand. At some point in early december 2017, local service manager was told by Maserati na, a fix would be available by end of 2017. It is now april 2018 and Maserati na has no time-table for a fix . You all can imagine how dangerous this can be. …”

NHTSA complaint #11663586, filed 2025-05

“I have owned this car for over 2 years now. It has been plagued with issues with the Stop/Start feature on the car. When I’m in heavy or slow traffic the car will shut off and may not restart like it’s supposed to. It will sometimes shift into neutral or park and I will have to scramble to press the engine start button then shift the car back into drive. This will also happen whenever I’m approaching a yield sign where I may not be making a complete stop. …”

NHTSA complaint #11520431, filed 2023-05

“on or around 12 october, my levante 2017 with 85 k mileage, started showing check engine light. i called the dealership the next day. the car stalled on the highway 3-5 times before i got to the dealership. i was told that the engine is dead and the car is NOT drivable anymore. This is a safety issue. stalling on a major highway can be dangerous. There are 3-4 other cases (online searching) whose same levante 2017 model had the same issue at very low mileages. …”

NHTSA complaint #11553088, filed 2023-11

“I’ve owned this car since Jan 2021. Throughout this time the car will show the exact problems mentioned in the Maserati Recall 338. The car will shut off while I’m in traffic, or if I’m slowly going through a yield sign the car will unexpectedly shift into neutral. I’ve tried talking to my local Maserati dealer over the years and all they keep saying is no, you have no open recalls. My car is doing exactly what the recall was for. All I want is a remedy. I’m getting nowhere, they want to charge me $300 to do diagnostics. …”
