- 10149468Feb 1, 2013Engine cooling. CHAMP2: Integrated Cooling Fan Is Noisy Intermittently. INFORMATION Do not replace parts and do not perform a repair attempt! Explain to the customer that this only happens at high ambient temperatures, which keep the fan running after the ignition is turned off. This Service Information will be updated as soon as a solution is available. A software solution is expected to be available with ISTA/P 2.49.0 in March…
- 10149464Feb 1, 2013Engine cooling. "N16 Engine: FC 2D9B Knock Sensor, Signal Is Stored in the DME. Certain areas of the US experience extremely cold climate conditions during the winter months, which can cause the Service Engine Soon lamp to illuminate while the engine temperature is increasing to full operating temperature.
- 10051919Feb 1, 2013Engine cooling. Mini: integrated cooling fan is noisy intermittently. This noise may be more noticeable after the ignition is turned off. Models r55, r56, r57, r58, r59, and r60.
- 10149332Jan 1, 2013Brakes. Erroneous "Service due" Message Though Brake Lining Thickness Sufficient. The CBS data calculated for the remaining distance of the front and/or rear brake pads does not agree with the actual brake pad thickness. The yellow brake lining service due indicator illuminates even though the pad thickness is greater than the minimum wear limit (approximately 3.7 mm); the brake wear sensor has not yet been activated (from…
- 10149331Jan 1, 2013Brakes. ABS/DSC Control During Light Braking. When driving slowly over uneven road surfaces, there may sometimes be pre-mature ABS application relative to the driving situation with the brake lightly applied. Software in the Dynamic Stability Control unit (DSC)
- 10149327Jan 1, 2013Engine cooling. Service Action: Retrofit of the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Internal corrosion could form in the engine coolant temperature sensor. This corrosion leads to internal bridging of the contacts, which can cause an inaccurate engine temperature reading. This false reading could lead to difficulty in the engine starting and/or a "Service Engine Soon" lamp being illuminated.
- 10149326Jan 1, 2013Engine cooling.
- 10149325Jan 1, 2013Engine cooling.
- 10149323Jan 1, 2013Engine. Engine Oil Leak. The customer states that a small engine oil leak can be seen from the underside of the engine. CAUSE The internal sealing of the oil pump volume control solenoid valve is compromised, allowing engine oil to leak from the oil pump volume control solenoid.
- 10051918Jan 1, 2013Brakes. Mini: abs/dsc control during light braking. Driving over uneven road surfaces at a slow pace may sometimes cause pre-mature abs application when the brake is lightly applied. Models r55, r56, r57, r58, r59, and r60.
- 10046979Jan 1, 2013Engine, Engine cooling. Mini: when a false reading leads to difficulty in starting engine and causes service engine soon lamp to illuminate, internal corrosion is forming in engine coolant temperature sensor, causing inaccurate engine temperature reading due to bridging of contacts. Models 2010-2012 r55, r56, r57, r58. *pe updated on 4/19/2013.
- 10046920Jan 1, 2013Transmission and drivetrain, Engine. Mini: internal bridging of contacts by internal corrosion forming on engine coolant temperature sensor, could give inaccurate engine temperature reading leading to difficulty in starting and/or service engine soon being illuminated. Models 2010-2012 r55, r56, r57, r58. *pe updated on 4/19/2013.
- 10150399Dec 1, 2012Engine cooling. "Service Action: Retrofit of the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Internal corrosion could form in the engine coolant temperature sensor. This corrosion leads to internal bridging of the contacts, which can cause an inaccurate engine temperature reading. This false reading could lead to difficulty in the engine starting and/or a ""Service Engine Soon"" lamp being illuminated."
- 10046779Dec 1, 2012Engine, Engine cooling. Mini: on engine coolant temperature sensor, internal corrosion might be forming, causing a false, inaccurate engine temperature reading, leading to difficulty in starting engine and/or a service engine soon illumination. Models 2010-2012 r55, r56, r57, r58 (cooper, cooper s-convertible, clubman, hardtop, coupe). *pe updated 1/18/13. *pe updated 3/11/2013
- 10150356Oct 1, 2012Electrical system. "Discharged Battery: Energy Diagnosis Must Be Performed. MINI electrical systems and advancements in vehicle technology have resulted in an increased demand on the vehicle battery. This SI will help the dealer handle ""discharged battery"" complaints. A discharged battery can have various causes, most unrelated to the battery. A failed battery is often the symptom and not the cause.
- 10150355Oct 1, 2012Body and structure. Rattling Noise from the Tailgate. A rattling noise may be heard from the tailgate area when driving on rough roads. CAUSE The felt strip on the lower bump stop is either mis-shaped or missing.
- 10150353Oct 1, 2012Engine cooling. "Service Action: Retrofit of the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. Internal corrosion could form in the engine coolant temperature sensor.
